NOTE regarding iron and zinc:
The often-repeated advice to never take iron and zinc together is based on studies with very high, isolated doses of the minerals and simplified in-vitro models. In practice – with typical dosages in multimineral supplements or fortified foods – simultaneous intake is not a problem.
Here's the background:
1. Shared transport via DMT1 and other carrier mechanisms: Iron (Fe²⁺) and zinc (Zn²⁺) partially utilize the same transporter (DMT1) and shared ferri-/zinc carriers in the intestinal mucosa. Effects at high doses: If very high single doses (e.g., > 100 mg zinc or > When taken in isolation (e.g., 100 mg iron), a strict priority rule can lead to a slightly reduced intake of the mineral that arrives latest.
At typical supplement dosages and in combination with food – which also binds the minerals to proteins, phytates or fiber – the mutual inhibition is negligible.
2. Current research on the simultaneous administration of multivitamin/mineral combinations:
Randomized controlled trials with combination preparations found no clinically relevant differences in iron or zinc levels compared to single-dose administration over 12 to 24 weeks.
Meta-analyses: Systematic reviews show that at dosages below approximately 40 mg per mineral, no significant interference occurs – even with long-term supplementation.

HOW THE THYROID GLAND FUNCTIONS
  • The protein thyroglobulin is stored in the thyroid cells. iodine Delivered through the blood, it binds as iodide to the Tyrosine-Amino acids in thyroglobulin and are produced with the help of the enzyme TPO (thyroidal peroxidase) and Iron as a cofactor The thyroid hormones T4 (thyroxine, also called tetraiodothyronine) and T3 (triiodothyronine) are produced. Of the total amount, 93% is converted into T4 and only 7% into T3. D.h. Iron deficiency reduces TPO activity and thus limits the synthesis of T3 and T4.
  • T3 is the active hormone, while T4 is the "storage hormone" and is slowly converted into T3 in the blood. The conversion of T4 to T3 occurs through deiodination by enzymes called deiodinases. These are selenoenzymes (d.h. need Selenium as a cofactor), which activates T3 by removing an iodine atom. D.h. Selenium deficiency reduces deiodinase activity and thus the conversion of T4 to more effective T3 in the liver and kidneys.
  • Deiodinases are distinguished as 5' and 5' deiodinase. The iodine atoms are located at T4. u.a. at the 5th position on the outer and inner rings. The iodine atoms at the 5th position on the outer ring are designated 5' and those on the inner ring as 5'. Only the 5' deiodinase leads to the conversion to T3. The cofactors required for the desired 5' deiodinase are in addition to selenium and iron, also zinc.

HASHIMOTO EXCURSION

  • Hashimoto's thyroiditis is predominantly a women's disease, affecting approximately 9 times as many women as men.Typical symptoms include sweating, lack of energy, and fatigue.
  • Hashimoto's is a autoimmun A thyroid disease caused by the body producing antibodies against its own thyroid gland, leading to inflammation. After initial symptoms of hyperthyroidism (due to immunological destruction of hormone-storing thyroid tissue, d.h. (Cell destruction triggers a passive hormone release) followed by the transition to chronic underfunction and, in the long term, the inflammation leads to the destruction of the organ.
  • Especially in the early stages of the disease, fluctuating hormone levels are sometimes possible. During this "rollercoaster ride" between over- and under-function, normal values can also occur depending on when the blood sample is taken, masking deviations in hypo- and hyperfunction.
  • Presumably, in individuals with a corresponding genetic predisposition, the immune system becomes unbalanced due to stress/adrenal dysfunction, infections, or other factors such as excessive iodine intake, and immune cells directed against the thyroid gland run amok. Free radicals and oxidative processes further fuel the immune response in the thyroid.
  • This chronic inflammation of the thyroid gland is incurable, but there are things that can be done to improve the condition. In this context, the following is often mentioned: Adaptogens from phytotherapy and its immunomodulating effect referred. D.h. in cases of excessive immune response, such as in o.g. In that case, they are supposed to contribute to a "down-regulation" of the system.

    Was uns antreibt

    Was uns geprägt hat

    Die Geschichte hinter Qidosha

Mein Mann erkrankte 2014 schwer.
