There are Vata imbalances, which may occur more frequently at the beginning of menstruation (bloating, pain in the lower abdomen or lower back, constipation, insomnia, or cramps); Pitta imbalances such as irritation, inflammation, hot flashes, increased breast sensitivity; and Kapha imbalances, which are accompanied by fluid retention in the breasts, a feeling of heaviness, bloating, or fatigue. Ayurveda has specific herbal recommendations for each imbalance (z.BFor Vata imbalance, Ashwagandha with warm water is recommended; for Pitta imbalance, Shatavari with warm water, etc. These should be discussed with an Ayurvedic doctor. By following dietary recommendations tailored to your individual constitution and practicing some yoga exercises, menstrual problems and pain can often be effectively prevented.*
