WHAT EXACTLY WHAT IS COENZYME Q10, AND WHAT IS ITS FUNCTION IN THE BODY?

A coenzyme is not a true enzyme, but rather a kind of "enzyme helper" that is nevertheless of great importance for the work of the enzymes.

Coenzyme Q10 is a substance naturally produced by the body. v.a. Coenzyme Q10 is synthesized in liver cells. The body requires the amino acids phenylalanine and tyrosine, as well as almost the entire vitamin B complex, to produce Q10. However, Q10 is also obtained through food. It is particularly abundant in animal products because animals, just like us, can produce coenzyme Q10 in their cells. Vegetables also contain coenzyme Q10, albeit in very small amounts: beef, for example, contains 3.3 mg of Q10 per 100 g, while bell peppers and spinach contain 0.35 mg/100 g.

Coenzyme Q10 plays an important role within the electron transport chain (“respiratory chain”) in the mitochondria. Mitochondria are the so-called "powerhouses" of cells, where cellular energy ATP is produced.

Macronutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, and fats contain chemically bound energy that is not directly available to the cells (cf. "oil"). This energy must first be processed outside the mitochondria.Like "gasoline" in an engine, the processed nutrients (with the support of "cofactors") are burned to generate usable energy.

What is the difference between Ubiquinol and Ubiquinone?

Coenzyme Q10 exists in two forms: oxidized ubiquinone and reduced ubiquinol. Both can be converted into one another in the body. Ubiquinol is the reduced, so-called active form in which Coenzyme Q10 is also predominantly present in the blood. QIDOSHA exclusively uses the patented brand raw material Kaneka® Ubiquinol from natural yeast fermentation.

How do I take Ubiquinol correctly and does the time matter?

1 capsule daily with sufficient water with a meal. Since Coenzyme Q10 is fat-soluble, taking it with food supports absorption; In our capsule, the ubiquinol is already completely dissolved in cold-pressed olive oil. The time doesn't matter, what's important is regular daily intake.

How much Coenzyme Q10 per day is usual?

There is no official reference value for Coenzyme Q10. Common nutritional supplements provide between 50 and 200 mg per day. With 100 mg of Kaneka® Ubiquinol per capsule, our daily portion is in the usual middle, and a jar with 90 capsules is enough for 3 months.

Does Coenzyme Q10 have side effects?

Coenzyme Q10 is considered to be very well tolerated in normal consumption quantities; after all, it is a compound produced naturally in the body. Stick to the recommended daily portion of 1 capsule. If you are taking anticoagulant medication, please discuss the supplement with your doctor in advance, as Q10 can influence their effect.

In which foods is Coenzyme Q10 found?

Can I take Ubiquinol permanently?

Yes, the product is designed for daily, long-term use. Although the body produces Coenzyme Q10 itself, the body's own production decreases with age. If you are taking medication on a long-term basis, please clarify the supplementation with your doctor in advance.

My husband became seriously ill in 2014. Conventional doctors were baffled by the cause, as none of the known risk factors applied. We have deepened this knowledge over many years together with practitioners. This led to the creation of QIDOSHA: the fusion of traditional healing wisdom, modern science, and the understanding of how to specifically support the body in finding its regulation and balance again – instead of merely compensating for symptoms in the short term. With QIDOSHA, we therefore don't simply want to sell supplements, but rather spark curiosity about the fascinating connections between the body, balance, and millennia-old wisdom.
