70 to 80% of all our perceptions are conveyed through the eyes. In Ayurveda, the doshas are divided into five subdoshas, ​​which are responsible for different functions in the body. Normally, each subdosha is responsible for several functions - however, in the Pitta dosha there is a subdosha that is solely responsible for the eyes PLUS: Other subdoshas also influence the eye functions. In Ayurveda, the eyes are of great importance.

The subtle essence “Ojas” and the information about the current state of the three gunas Sattva, Rajas and Tamas shine through our eyes. How can we support our eyes? Strengthening Agni and the associated promotion of the elimination of Ama promotes the absorption and supply of nutrients and vital substances for the organism. Deacidification and an excess base diet protect the eyes from harmful substances. Digital detox or a conscious reduction in visual stimuli prevents eye strain.

OPC 40 is recommended by various sources for permanent eye strain caused by long hours of computer work. Among the Ayurvedic herbs and foods, the Amla berry is considered to regulate Pitta. According to Ayurvedic understanding, Triphala balances all three doshas. Dissolved in water, doctors use it to treat eye inflammation. Please only have it carried out under supervision or by a doctor! From an Ayurvedic perspective, a good eye care product is ghee, which is given slightly warmed into the eye (a drop) for dry eyes.
