From an Ayurvedic point of view, the cause of the present problem in terms of the doshas is essential.

There are Vata disorders that may be more likely to occur at the beginning of the period (bloating, lower abdomen or lower back pain, constipation, insomnia or cramps), Pitta disorders such as irritation, inflammation, hot flashes, increased breast sensitivity or also kapha disorders, which are accompanied by fluid retention in the chest, a feeling of heaviness, a feeling of fullness or tiredness. Ayurveda has herbal recommendations for each disorder (e.g. Ashwagandha with warm water for Vata disorders, Shatavari with warm water for Pitta disorders, etc.). These should be coordinated with an Ayurveda doctor. If you follow nutritional recommendations for your own constitutional type and practice a few yoga exercises, menstrual problems and pain can often be effectively prevented.*
