What is a mantra?
The word mantra means purification of the mind.
We can read a lot about the meaning of mantras, but we only really understand them when we work with them and experience their power in everyday life.
Why does our mind need to be cleansed?
If we take on the role of observer and pay attention to what we are thinking, we will realise that our mind is constantly chattering. This is also Monkey Mind called.
We have a lot to do during the day and our minds have to process a flood of information every day. Even if we see this as normal and it is a habit for us, it is pure stress for our minds. Because everything we take in (read and hear) interacts with us (with our energy field).
In order to reduce our mental peak performance, to turn multitasking into monotasking and to balance the chaos of our thoughts, we can use mantras.
Mantras serve the purpose of helping us concentrate on one thing. In this case, it is focusing on a word or a sentence. By constantly repeating a sentence or word, we calm our thoughts and our mind.
As soon as the mind tries to distract us, we get confused. This happens very often at first because the mind is used to wanting/having to think about a lot of things. It is trained this way and therefore it is the habit of the mind.
If our thoughts are calmed, we begin to relax. When we relax, we can regenerate and recharge our life energy. The life energy reaches deep into our being through deep breathing. If we practice mantras regularly, we promote deep breathing, which is an important component for our health.
With deep breathing we begin to perceive ourselves, how we feel, what needs and desires we have. This is important so that we don't lose ourselves in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Furthermore, each mantra naturally has its own effectiveness. There are protective mantras, mantras to activate self-healing powers, bija mantras, mantras of Indian deities, mantras to connect with inner wisdom, mantras to overcome fears and much more.
In order to find the right mantra for yourself, it is important to know what you want to achieve with the mantra.
For example:
- perform deep inner work
- strengthening trust
- strengthen the sense of unity
- Mobilize forces to overcome difficult situations
- healing pain
- Resolve Fears
- greet the day
- say goodbye to the day
- and much more
It makes sense to use the mantra every day. This way, the energy field receives daily light-filled impulses. Daily practice will become a beloved new habit that you won't want to miss.
Many years ago, two Buddhist women introduced me to mantras. It is a light-filled nourishment and simply does you good. If you want to find out more about me and my work, then take a look at my website. www.wegezudeinemherzen.de
