Pineapple in Ayurveda
Sour fruits like berries, pineapple, or citrus fruits are refreshing, but also acidifying. They strengthen Agni (digestive fire), increase Pitta, and regulate Vata dosha. Are you prone to Pitta imbalances? Then you should stay away from sour fruits.
Ayurvedic advice: Avoid eating sour fruits together with fermented dairy products (yogurt, quark, or cheese). This is said to clog the srotas (channels) and burden the skin's metabolism.
