ORGANIC Shatavari - recipes and application

Make your home a magical place of power - with Shatavari.

Shatavari is one of the best-known plants in Ayurvedic herbal medicine. In Latin the plant is called Asparagus racemosus. If you want to have children, have menstrual problems or are going through menopause - it's worth giving this unique root a try! But now one step at a time. Shatavari not only sounds beautiful (perhaps like a pretty woman's name), but also means "who has 100 men at her disposal". This is an indication of the rejuvenating effect of female reproductive organs.

In Ayurveda, the fine roots and sometimes the leaves of this wild asparagus are used as medicinal and strengthening agents. Shatavari is primarily used by women and men to strengthen sexuality. In women to support fertility (the positive effects on reproductive tissue are known) as well as during pregnancy, to increase libido and for menopausal symptoms or to relieve premenstrual syndrome (PMS). In men, Shatavari is used for indications such as impotence, sexual weakness or inflammation in the genital area.

AYURVEDA: Shatavari for your bioenergy balance

Shatavari can have a positive effect on people with elevated Vata or Pitta. It strengthens Kapha dosha and helps reduce Vata and Pitta.

The unstable Vata dosha can benefit from the anxiety-relieving and nerve-calming effects. It can also be used for sleep problems. Shatavari is good for body and mind and brings healing energy and balance.

Not only the mind but also the intestines can be calmed as Shatavari is used to protect the mucous membrane. Taking Shatavari correctly promises to help with heartburn.

Recipes

Shatavari Moon Milk - the Ayurvedic bedtime milk

As the name suggests, Moon Milk is made with milk. In Ayurveda, cow's milk (only milk of the best, most natural quality) is said to have a strengthening and vitalizing effect. It calms our organism, stimulates our appetite and balances the doshas Vata and Pitta. In order for the milk to be effective, it must be warm. In the best case scenario, the milk should be boiled several times with spices.

With the Moon Milk - moon milk - we use shatavari in addition to warming spices because we want to use the balancing effect for ourselves. Alternatively, we can also use Reishi or Tulsi.

Take:

  • 250ml best cow or plant milk
  • 1 tsp Shatavari powder
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Simply heat the milk, add the powder and stir in - enjoy.
The Moon Milk can be refined to taste. A little cane sugar, lavender or cardamom are popular extras.
