The name Triphala comes from Sanskrit and means "three fruits". In India, there is a popular saying that it is not so bad not to have a mother as long as you have Triphala - this shows the high value that Triphala has in Ayurveda.
Triphala is made from equal parts:
Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), which we call the black-brown myrobalan tree. In Ayurveda it is a so-called "Yogavahini" that purifies all shrotas and can be absorbed very quickly by the organism. It balances all three doshas (vata, pitta, kapha).
Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), known to us as ash-colored myrobalan, is considered the best rejuvenator in Ayurveda and balances all three doshas.
Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica), known in Germany as green belleric myrobalan, balances the two doshas Pitta and Kapha according to the teachings of Ayurveda and removes Ama (toxins) from the fatty tissue.

According to Ayurvedic teachings, Triphala balances all three doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha).
